Osa y Conejo son dos singulares amigos. Aparentemente no tienen nada en común; sin embargo, ambos descubrirán que cuando están juntos, la vida resulta mucho mejor.Osa se ha despertado de la hibernacion antes de tiempo por la presencia de un intruso en su cueva que le ha robado la comida. Decide no volver a dormir e intentar hacer un muñeco de nieve. Fuera conoce a Conejo, un personaje malhumorado que tratara de engañarle (el ha sido el ladron) y que sentira celos de su muñeco. La aparicion de un lobo hara que Conejo se de cuenta de que tener a Osa como amiga es estupendo: le libra del lobo, no siente ningun rencor por lo mal que se ha portado con ella y juntos pueden hacer un monton de cosas.Asi se iniciara la amistad de estos dos personajes principales de la coleccion. A lo largo de esta historia tambien descubriremos los singulares habitos alimenticios de los conejos: ingieren su propia caca para extraer toda la energia existente en los alimentos de los que se alimentan.

Conejo acaba de despertarse tras pasar el invierno en la cueva de Osa. Cuando regresa a su madriguera encuentra a Tortuga y, aunque muy lentamente, consigue sacarla de alli. Pero ese no es el unico inconveniente que encuentra, tambien la primavera ha llevado hasta el bosque a una nueva vecina: Pajara Carpintera. Su frenetica actividad y el ruido que provoca hace que Conejo pierda los nervios y que recurra a Osa para hacer que Pajara Carpintera desista en su picoteo constante. Todo parece irritar a Conejo, y asi se lo hace saber Osa. Esto provocara que Conejo reflexione sobre su actitud, cambie su modo de plantearse lo que le sucede y aprenda a disfrutar de relacionarse con los demas animales del bosque.

¡Los árboles del bosque están desapareciendo! ¿Quién será el culpable? Osa y Conejo, acompañados de Pájara Carpintera, salen en busca del responsable. Así dan con Castor, que ha llegado al bosque para traer el progreso.
