This study sets out an "Aktionsart"-based model to account for the distribution of "uuesan" and "uuerdan" in the Old High German passive. An empirical analysis of major Old High German works demonstrates that the choice of copula can be explained by this model, or by precisely defined departures from it, each of which represents a form of grammaticalization. Detailed examination of the Tatian and Isidor translations from Latin also shows that the choice of passive forms in each work is the response to the challenge of translating between two languages with different verb systems, as well as to the contrasting demands of each work.
Diese Studie entwirft ein Modell der Aktionsart, um die Verteilung von "uuesan" und "uuerdan" im althochdeutschen Passiv zu untersuchen. Eine empirische Analyse bedeutender althochdeutscher Schriften zeigt, dass die Wahl der Kopula entweder mithilfe dieses Modells oder im Licht klar definierter Abweichungen von diesem erklärt werden kann, wobei jede Abweichung eine Form von Grammatikalisierung darstellt. Zudem belegen eingehende Untersuchungen der Tatian- und Isidor-Übersetzungen aus dem Lateinischen, dass die Wahl der Passivformen in jedem Werk auch immer ein Ergebnis der Beschäftigung mit zwei Sprachen mit verschiedenen Verbalsystemen ist und sich aus den unterschiedlichen Anforderungen eines jeden Textes ergibt.
