Diane Setterfield (Berkshire, 1964) estudió Literatura Francesa en la Universidad de Bristol, tras lo que se especializó en autores de los siglos XIX y XX, como André Gide, y trabajó como profesora en distintos centros.
Apasionada de la lectura, decidió abandonar el mundo académico para dedicarse por entero a la escritura.
