Kent Anderson (Carolina del Norte, 1945) es un veterano de la guerra de Vietnam condecorado con dos Estrellas de Bronce que trabajó como policía en Portland y Oakland. Sus experiencias como soldado y agente de la ley, así como un Máster en Escritura Creativa por la Universidad de Montana, le han servido para escribir tres novelas protagonizadas por Hanson: Compasión por el diablo (1987), Night Dogs (1996) y El sol verde (2018). En la actualidad, Kent Anderson vive en un rancho de caballos en New Mexico y trabaja en la cuarta novela de la serie.
