Adrian Tchaikovsky nació en Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, antes de mudarse a Reading para estudiar psicología y zoología. Terminó Derecho y ha trabajado como ejecutivo jurídico tanto en Reading como Leeds, donde reside actualmente. Casado, es un gran aficionado a los juegos de rol en vivo y ha entrenado en lucha de exhibición y combate histórico. Mantiene un activo interés en la historia y en las ciencias biológicas, especialmente la entomología. Es autor de la aclamada decalogía Shadows of the Apt que inicia con Empires in Black and Gold.
