Tayari Jones (1970) es ganadora de los premios Hurston-Wright Legacy de Primera Novela 2003 y el Lillian Smith Book Award 2005. Se graduó por Spelman College y continuó sus estudios superiores en la Universidad Estatal de Arizona y la Universidad de Iowa. Ha sido profesora de Escritura Creativa en la Universidad de Illinois y la Universidad de George Washington.
