Sinopsis de I REFUSE
Two men meet by accident on a bridge early one morning. Once they were best friends but Tommy and Jim havent seen each other for 35 years. Back then, Tommy and his sister were abandoned by their mother and later by their abusive father, and Jim, who lived alone with his religious mother, went to high school and became a socialist. Then one winter, Jim started to doubt whether he was deserving of the friendship. Now Jim is standing on the bridge, fishing, when Tommy drives by in his expensive new Mercedes. I Refuse follows both men during the course of the fateful day that follows.

Per Petterson (Oslo, 1952) trabajó como obrero en una fábrica, librero y traductor antes de dedicarse exclusivamente a la escritura. Considerado uno de los autores noruegos más destacados de la actualidad, es autor de ocho novelas y dos libros de relatos. En 1991, al inicio de su carrera, tuvo que afrontar una tragedia familiar, la muerte de sus padres, su hermano y su sobrina en un incendio a bordo de un ferri, una experiencia que tratará en varios de sus libros. Ha sido nominado en dos ocasiones al Premio de Literatura del Consejo Nórdico, que recibió en 2009 por Yo maldigo el río del tiempo. En el año 2003, su novela Salir a robar caballos se convirtió en un best seller internacional y recibió importantes reconocimientos, como el Independent Foreign Fiction Prize y el Premio Literario Internacional IMPAC de Dublín. Hombres en mi situación (2018; Libros del Asteroide, 2020) es su última novela.
