Dylan Thomas (Swansea, Gales, 1914 - Nueva York, 1953). Poeta galés en lengua inglesa. Durante un tiempo trabajó como periodista para el South Wales Evening Post y durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, como guionista para la BBC. Escribió también guiones radiofónicos y cinematográficos. Se dio a conocer como poeta con Dieciocho poemas (1934). Defendió sus concepciones estéticas en Retrato del artista cachorro. Murió en Nueva York el 9 de noviembre de 1953; sus últimas palabras fueron: «He bebido 18 vasos de whisky, creo que es todo un récord.»
