ALBAICIN: UNA MIRADA INTERIOR = THE ALBAICIN AN INTIMATE VIEW

Este proyecto, en el cual he estado implicado desde el año 2004, ha sido una especie de búsqueda en el tiempo a través de múltiples viajes dentro del mismo espacio geográfico como es el Albaicín. El poso del tiempo, de la historia y de la memoria retenida está impregnada en este barrio milenario a través de sus calles, en esa arquitectura islámica que se funde con la castellana, que nos ha dejado una herencia cultural única y de las vidas que habitan este lugar, la sustentan y la enriquecen en el día a día de un modo sin igual. Ha sido un largo viaje en el que he tratado de penetrar, a través de la mirada, en un Albaicín cotidiano e íntimo, en un Albaicín que no siempre se deja ver, salvo lo que él te permite, de un modo fragmentado dentro de una relación mutua. No puedo dejar de agradecer a los albaicineros el cariño y la amabilidad que me han brindado a lo largo del tiempo. Recordar a los que nos han ido dejando y a las personas, ellas son conocedoras, que han confiado en este trabajo y me han apoyado sin fisuras en todo momento, a pesar de los momentos de desasosiego que aparecen inexorablemente en todo viaje tan prolongado. Raúl Montanós This project, in which I have been involved since 2004, has been a type of search in time through manifold journeys within the geographical area of the Albaicín. The pass of time, of history and the memory retained is impregnated in this millennial district through its streets, through the Islamic architecture that blends with the Castilian and that has left us a unique cultural legacy, through the inhabitants of this place and which nourish it and enrich it day by day in an incomparable way. This has been a long journey in which I have tried to penetrate from my own view, into an everyday and intimate Albaicín, an Albaicín that does not always reveal itself other than partially and within a mutual relationship. My sincere gratefulness to the Albaicineros for the affection and kindness they have offered me over time. I recall those who have left us and those people, who have the knowledge, who have had faith in this work and have offered me unwavering support at all times, in spite of the moments of anxiety that are inevitably linked to such a lengthy journey.
