ESQUILO: LOS PERSAS

Jaime Siles was born in Valencia, 1951. Awarded a PhD in Classical Philology by the University of Salamanca and Doctor honoris causa by University Clermont-Ferrand. He has lectured at the Universities of Salamanca, Alcalá de Henares, La Laguna, Viena Graz, Salzburg, Madison-Wisconsin, Bergamo, Berne, St. Gallen, Turin, Geneva, Clermont-Ferrand, Orléans, Marne-La Vallée and L’École Normale Supérieure. Currently, he is Professor of Latin Philology at the University of Valencia. He has received, among others, the following awards: Ocnos (1973); País Valenciano Critic’s Award and the National Critic’s Award (1983); International Loewe Poetry Award (1989); Generación del 27 International Award (1998) and Jaime Gil de Biedma International Poetry Award (2018); as well as the Teresa de Ávila Award (2003); the Valencian Arts Award (2004); and the Andrés Bello Award (2017) for lifetime achievement.

Francisco SUÁREZ. Francisco Suárez S.I. (Granada, 5 de enero de 1548–Lisboa, 25 de septiembre de 1617) fue un teólogo, filósofo y jurista español. Fue llamado Doctor Eximius et Pius y gozó de enorme autoridad, revitalizando la ya decaída escolástica. En su gran obra jurídica, Tractatus de legibus ac Deo legislatore, muy fecunda para la doctrina iusnaturalista y el derecho internacional, se encuentra ya la idea del pacto social, y realiza un análisis más avanzado que sus precursores del concepto de soberanía.
