New artistic practices with the mysticism of the Brossian universe as a backdrop
Taking its title from the last poem written by Joan Brossa, published posthumously and now recovered in this book, Sumari Astral is a collective project in which the participating artists explore the reality we construct and transform through language, art or thought, using text, image or even gesture.
In this way, connecting Joan Brossa's legacy with contemporary artistic practices, Sumari Astral brings together diverse voices, artworks, verses, spells, aphorisms and other types of play in an arrangement of images and texts that, closing the circle, returns to us the question of the possibility—and impossibility—of cosmic order.
The last poem by Joan Brossa, 'Sumari Astral,' which had gone out of print, can now be rediscovered as a fold-out poster included with the publication's dust jacket.
