Yrsa Sigurdardóttir nació en Reikiavik, Islandia, en 1963. Ingeniera civil de formación, en 2005 decidió dedicarse plenamente a la escritura tras obtener un gran éxito internacional con su primera novela El último ritual, un fenómeno editorial publicado en más de 30 territorios.
