Nació en 1924 en Lelant, Cornwall, Inglaterra. Rosamunde Pilcher se ha convertido en un indiscutible fenómeno literario de nuestros días. Los buscadores de conchas ocupó un puesto destacado en las listas de más vendidos de todo el mundo, acreditando la extraordinaria calidad narrativa de la autora. Pilcher comenzó a escribir muy joven y publicó su primer relato a los dieciocho años en la revista Woman and Home.
