The church of Armes of the Light has long fought the forces of Darkness. Adrian Tchaikovsky nació en Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, antes de mudarse a Reading para estudiar psicología y zoología. Terminó Derecho y ha trabajado como ejecutivo jurídico tanto en Reading como Leeds, donde reside actualmente. Casado, es un gran aficionado a los juegos de rol en vivo y ha entrenado en lucha de exhibición y combate histórico. Mantiene un activo interés en la historia y en las ciencias biológicas, especialmente la entomología. Es autor de la aclamada decalogía Shadows of the Apt que inicia con Empires in Black and Gold. Algunas otras obras suyas son Guns of the Dawn, Herederos del tiempo y la nueva serie Echoes of the Fall entre otras. Ha sido galardonado con el British Fantasy Award y con el Arthur C.
