Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) is regarded as one of the 20th century's greatest Danish architects. Although he established his international reputation mainly in furniture design, having producedsome of the world's most recognisable and sought-after chairs, he also ranks as a master ofmodern architecture. He painted watercolours, took an active interest in new building andproduction methods, and experimented with new materials in order to realise his vision. Thisreprint of an exhaustive monograph on Jacobsen that was a decade in the making, asresearchers Carsten Thau and Kjeld Vindum delved into the archives and material, draws forthnew aspects of the architect's genius.
